Optimiza is seeking a dedicated and strategic Data Governance Officer to oversee our data governance practices and ensure that data across the organization is managed as a valuable asset. In this key role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance frameworks, defining data stewardship roles, and fostering a culture of data accountability throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities to ensure accountability for data quality and integrity across all departments.
  • Conduct regular assessments of data management practices, identifying gaps and recommending improvements to enhance data governance.
  • Collaborate with business units to define data classification, ownership, and usage guidelines.
  • Implement data quality metrics and monitoring processes to assess data quality and compliance with governance standards.
  • Provide training and awareness programs on data governance best practices for staff at all levels.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data governance issues and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to address data-related challenges.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in data governance, privacy regulations, and data management technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices, as well as regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data quality and integrity.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in change management and fostering a culture of accountability around data.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA-DMBOK) are a plus.
