You’ll work with a high degree of technical expertise across networking, automation, and security, contributing to a technology roadmap that directly supports Tesco’s mission to redefine convenience and customer experience.

You will be responsible for- Designing and delivering network solutions using Tesco’s current and emerging technologies.
- Implementing and establishing best practices for new network technologies.
- Resolving incidents and problems within your area of expertise.
- Contributing to the Tesco Network Services Technology Roadmap.
- Evaluating new tools and techniques for potential adoption and impact.
- Leading design discussions in your area of expertise and presenting to varied audiences.
- Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to facilitate seamless infrastructure consumption.
- Keeping technical skills and knowledge up to date with industry trends.
- Introducing automation to streamline day-to-day network engineering tasks.
- Producing and maintaining high-quality HLDs and LLDs, ensuring documentation standards are met.
- Supporting global wireless upgrade and expansion initiatives.
- Participating in secure network access control designs, including NAC and 802.1X deployments.
You will need
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in designing and deploying infrastructure/network solutions at an enterprise scale.
- Expertise in network access control technologies, including Forescout CounterACT and 802.1X.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTPS, Netflow, Radius, and endpoint access policy management.
- Deep knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, and network security technologies.
- Experience with WLAN Controllers and technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, or Juniper Mist.
- Skilled in creating and supporting complex wireless designs, both centralized and distributed.
- Proven track record of automation using Python, PowerShell, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills using tools like tcpdump and Wireshark.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, both written and verbal.
- Experience in creating design documentation and contributing to architecture reviews.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Cisco ISE, Linux scripting, and PKI.
- Understanding of enterprise protocols such as LDAP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP.
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux/macOS environments.
- Understanding of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP).
- Forescout certifications (e.g., FSCE) are a plus.
