Job Description

This Data Analyst 3 role on the Operations Performance Management team in Nordstrom Supply Chain is responsible for providing high-impact analyses and reporting on multiple warehousing KPIs (including, but not limited to safety, productivity, quality, speed, inventory, storage, cost) to support strategic decision making for distribution and fulfillment operations. 

 

This individual will collaborate with senior leaders and program owners across Supply Chain Operations to solve complex problems by creating products with meaningful, action-oriented narratives. They should have a high business acumen and ability to use a variety of advanced analytical approaches and visualizations to independently deliver impactful insights from data. They should be able to communicate those insights with stakeholders in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.  They should be able to clearly understand how projects are tied to the team mission and actively contribute to the development of the team roadmap. They also act as technical mentors for junior members of the team. 

 

A day in the life… 

 

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand complex business problems and identify requirements to create new KPIs and business frameworks that highlight key opportunities, tradeoffs and provide actionable recommendations 

  • Ask the right questions to stakeholders and collaborate with engineering teams to clarify project goals and technical requirements 

  • Acquire data from multiple data source types and blending them across various tools in performant ways and in line with Nordstrom best practices 

  • Write complex code that is repeatable, clean and robust independently to manipulate data outputs to meet a variety use cases 

  • Use advanced data visualization techniques to communicate results to business stakeholders 

  • Guides stakeholders on how to review business results and how to interpret performance. 

  • Work with fellow team members and partners to continuously improve, streamline and automate report design, production, delivery, and documentation 

  • Complete ambiguous projects independently, set the right priorities for ad hoc requests & plan out the priority order of tasks and size them.  

 

You own this if you have… 

 

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, science, statistics, math) or equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience 

  • 3-5 years of related professional experience 

  • Experience with Google BigQuery, BQ SQL 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey results to non-experts 

  • Self-directed ability to “hit-the-ground-running,” proactively identifying business data needs and formulating solutions with minimal supervision 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities for overcoming roadblocks, innovatively driving quality solutions, balancing multiple tasks and competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment 

  • Ability to mentor and guide team members with patience and clarity, supporting their growth and development. 

  • Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, diplomatic, self-motivated, dependable and driven by a passion for excellence 

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships with peers, internal stakeholders and leadership 

  • Ability to build strong relationships, gain confidence and effectively communicate and work with teams and business partners

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$102,500.00 - $170,500.00 Annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
