The opportunity

Join our Next Generation Grids Transformers team in Geneva and help shape the future of energy. As an R&D Test Engineer – Power Converters and Transformers you will work on the design and setup of test environments for transformers and power converters. You’ll contribute to the development of testing protocols, support product validation, and ensure our innovations are ready for real-world application. This role offers hands-on experience, technical growth, and the chance to make a real impact in the energy transition.

You are going to work alongside a team of experienced engineers and play a key role in the entire research and development lifecycle—from concept design to testing and product launch—ensuring our solutions meet technical and safety standards.

How you will make an impact

  • Design and implement test bays for transformers and power converters ensuring they meet testing and safety standards

  • Oversee installation of test equipment and protection systems

  • Develop and execute testing procedures to validate product performance

  • Document test results and technical findings clearly and accurately

  • Take ownership of work packages and deliver results using a structured approach

  • Contribute to innovative R&D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout

Your background

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Experience with protection systems and testing of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) of electrical equipment

  • Knowledge of MV power electronic converters, transformers, and distribution grids

  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python as well as programming skills for process automation and data acquisition

  • Strong communication skills in English (French is a plus)

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary and international teams
