Data Analyst- Intern

Job Title:    Data Analyst- Intern    
Reports to:    Dir. Of Credit & Collections

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

Support the Data Analyst by manually reviewing, correcting, and documenting data issues in legacy loan and customer datasets.

• Audit & Verify – Systematically compare source documents and system records to identify duplicates, missing values, and formatting errors.

• Clean & Correct – Apply established data cleaning Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to update records in Excel

• Document Changes – Keep clear logs of every correction (who/what/why) to maintain full audit traceability.

• Flag Anomalies – Escalate any inconsistencies or edge cases that fall outside the SOPs for supervisor review.

• Quality Checks – Re check a sample of completed work daily to confirm 100 % accuracy before sign off.

Education
Currently pursuing (or recently completed) studies in Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

Minimum Qualification:

•  Proven attention to detail—e.g., academic projects, prior data entry work, or lab research that demanded precision.
• Solid proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel) and comfort learning new tools quickly.
• Ability to follow step by   step instructions and ask clarifying questions when needed.

Preferred but not required
• Basic SQL experience.
• Prior experience in data cleaning, data entry, or quality assurance roles.
