"Software Engineer – Robotics, Vision & ADAS (Junior Level)
Location: Weston, Florida
About the Role:
Segula Technologies is seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in robotics, computer vision, and AI/ML applications to join our innovative engineering team in Florida. The ideal candidate will support the development and validation of advanced systems, such as ADAS, real-time surveillance, and intelligent automation platforms, using Python, ROS, deep learning, and simulation tools.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test cutting-edge features that improve safety, efficiency, and intelligence in medical and industrial robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, validate, and enhance real-time software solutions for robotics, computer vision, and AI-driven systems.
Work with ROS (Robot Operating System) to simulate, test, and deploy navigation, perception, and control algorithms.
Create tools for KPI validation, visualization, and automation of data workflows using Python, OpenCV, and related frameworks.
Perform data annotation, model training, and evaluation for deep learning tasks (e.g., object detection, segmentation, classification).
Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of sensors (LiDAR, cameras).
Support root cause analysis and debugging of software/hardware interaction issues in ADAS and robotic applications.
Contribute to documentation, performance benchmarking, and quality assurance in compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
0–2 years of hands-on experience (including internships or research) in robotics or computer vision software development.
Proficiency in Python, C++, SQL, and Bash scripting.
Solid understanding of ROS (preferred ROS Melodic/Noetic), OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and simulation environments (Gazebo, RViz).
Experience with deep learning techniques (CNN, LSTM) for real-time applications like drowsiness detection or accident detection.
Familiarity with tools like MATLAB/Simulink, Git, Ubuntu, and Jupyter.
Experience working with ADAS systems, autonomous navigation, or sensor fusion projects is a strong plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Jetson Nano, NVIDIA platforms, or embedded Linux systems.
Exposure to Google Cloud, Firebase, BigQuery, or Big Data tools (Hadoop, PySpark).
Familiarity with quality assurance processes and automotive safety standards.
Published work, patents, or documented personal/academic projects in robotics or AI domains.
