PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $125,700.00-$153,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $97,400.00 - $181,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. 

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE

As a Sr. Data Scientist supporting BECU's Retail business unit, you won’t just analyze data—you'll shape how we understand and serve our members. You'll build predictive models and custom segmentations that directly influence strategic decisions across video banking, contact center sales, ATM strategies, and branch operations. Your work will unlock smarter personalization, sharper forecasting, and optimized member experiences.

You’ll be a trusted partner to stakeholders across retail, marketing, and product teams, helping BECU stay ahead in a data-driven future. If you're passionate about turning complex data into powerful insights that make a real impact, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Model Development & Lifecycle Ownership: Lead the end-to-end process of building, deploying, and monitoring predictive models using Python and Snowflake.
• Insight Generation: Translate internal and external data into clear, actionable recommendations for retail strategy.
• Segmentation & Targeting: Create custom member segmentations that improve engagement and personalization strategies.
• Forecasting & Capital Planning: Support membership, attrition, and consumer loan forecasting to inform operational and financial strategies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with retail, marketing, and product teams to embed data science into strategic decision-making.
• Innovation & Optimization: Improve conversion rates through automated personalization and send-time optimization techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Economics (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 7 years of experience with scripting languages like SQL, Python, or R plus experience deploying models into production systems

Desired Qualifications

• Advanced degree preferred
• Financial industry or marketing analytics experience
• Experience with Snowflake, Alteryx, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, or Tableau
• Strong documentation and agile experience
