Senior Software Engineer, Data Tooling

The Waymo ML Infrastructure team accelerates Waymo's mission by building the best ecosystem for sustainably building and shipping ML-powered intelligence. We provide the best solutions for the entire model development lifecycle, collaborating closely with Google. Developer productivity, scale, and efficiency are core tenets.

You will:

1. Report to the TLM for the ML Tooling team
2. Apply Waymo and Alphabet technology to ensure fast, scalable search across large datasets
3. Deliver data exploration tools allowing users to search, slice, and understand large corpora of driving logs

You have:

1. BS in Computer Science, Robotics, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
2. Experience building batch processing pipelines to index/annotate large datasets
3. Experience designing, building, and deploying full stack web applications, especially in common production frameworks like GCP (Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, OAuth) or AWS (S3, EC2, IAM, Batch)
4. High customer focus and ability to incorporate user feedback into designs and improvements

We prefer:

1. 5 years of professional experience on infrastructure projects
2. Proficiency developing realtime APIs in C++ or Python
3. Proficiency developing web frontends in TypeScript or JavaScript

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
