About the role
Medicom is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Research Data Analyst Intern to support our Intellect platform. This intern will play a key role in data discovery, analysis, and sampling processes that support commercial and research projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data, SQL, Python, and cloud technologies in a dynamic team environment.
What you'll do
Data Discovery
- Perform initial data exploration and cohort identification within data provider environments
- Write and execute SQL queries to support data extraction and reporting
- Use Python scripts to assist with DICOM data discovery and transformation
- Maintain and understand basic data specifications
Data Sampling & Delivery
- Utilize internal tools to identify and prepare data cohorts
- Conduct basic quality control checks on sample data
- Prepare and deliver datasets to AWS environments
Collections Support
- Assist in prepping and executing data collection activities
- Support data delivery for internal and external stakeholders
Collaboration & Shadowing
- Participate in team stand-ups, bi-weekly meetings, and 1:1s with the VP of Intellect
- Shadow the Program Manager to gain exposure to:
- Salesforce/TaskRay workflows
- Work order and pricing documentation
- Data specification and setup processes
Qualifications
Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), including:
- Writing and troubleshooting SQL queries and stored procedures
- Performing ETL processes
- Managing database objects (tables, views, constraints, etc.)
- Analyzing large datasets for reporting and quality assurance
Preferred
- Experience with Python for data scripting or automation
- Familiarity with healthcare imaging data (DICOM) or interest in healthcare analytics
- Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS is a plus
Hours: Part-Time (22-25 hours/week, not to exceed 30 hours/week)
Hourly Rate: $30/hr
Internship Duration: Minimum commitment of 6 months
