Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

As the principal product manager for Discovery, you will redefine how the public safety personnel find and access the information to operate a law enforcement agency. Your mandate is to deliver a unified, intuitive and intelligent search layer for Axon Records and Standards, and connected third‑party data sources so officers, investigators and command staff can locate the right information in seconds, not minutes, increasing both officer safety and community trust.

You will own the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the Discovery experience: from the user interface that guides an officer to the right result to the underlying index, ranking and data‑integration pipelines that make those queries lightning‑fast and reliable. The scope includes direct stewardship of search UX and infrastructure, plus dotted‑line oversight of related domains like maps & location services, entity resolution and external search connectors. You will measure success by improvements in search accuracy, time‑to‑insight, and adoption.

What You’ll Do

Location: Onsite at our Seattle, WA office 1 day a week, and on the road 20-30% of time
Reports to: Jack Mazzeo

  • Own the Full Search Stack: Drive the product strategy and delivery of Axon's cross-platform search experience—from user interface and workflows to underlying infrastructure, data models, and external integrations (e.g., NCIC, third-party CAD systems).
  • Shape the Product Promise: Operationalize our product vision—Quick insights, informed choices, safer outcomes—by learning from customers and continuously refining KPIs, user journeys, and feedback loops.
  • Champion a Unified Vision: Serve as the connective tissue across Records, DEMS, RTO, and other Axon pillars to realize a cohesive, One Axon Search experience.
  • Lead Key Initiatives: Partner with design and engineering to guide development of features like global search, semantic and conversational search, saved and recent searches, personalized defaults, graph/map/table views, and role-based filtering.
  • Drive Simplification and Trust: Eliminate cognitive friction and fear of missing critical info (FOMO) by making search crazy simple, comprehensive, and context-aware.
  • Mentor and Collaborate: Act as a thought leader and coach for PMs across the team, while working closely with engineering, design, TAMs, PSO, and customer stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of product management experience with a focus on enterprise SaaS, search systems, modern AI-driven features, and/or platforms requiring deep technical collaboration.
  • Proven ability to design and ship successful user-facing search or discovery products at scale with measurable outcomes (e.g., increased CTR, reduced time to result).
  • Deep customer empathy and demonstrated success partnering with design to build frictionless, intuitive experiences across diverse user personas.
  • Strong technical fluency; able to converse meaningfully with engineers on search infrastructure, data integrations, ML-based ranking, and UX tradeoffs.
  • Effective cross-functional leader and executive communicator; skilled at aligning roadmaps and priorities across multiple internal and external teams.
  • Passion for law enforcement or mission-driven products is a plus, especially if you've worked with public safety, civic tech, or regulatory systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
