Imagery Scientist

Key Role:

Leverages advanced and specialized physics research expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena, captured with electro-optical imaging systems, conduct and shape R&D programs, and to support S&T client challenges. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction, and mentors and supervises team members, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with electro-optical (EO) imagery including collection, phenomenology, image formation process, and exploitation products
  • 15+ years of experience applying the principles of remote sensing, imagery processing, and advanced exploitation methods to generate products and outcomes
  • 8+ years of experience developing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using EO imagery, including utilizing processing tools such as Python or MATLAB, to automate scientific processes of EO imagery data
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences on availability and capabilities of EO imagery products and methodologies
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED and 18+ years of experience with image science and remote sensing platforms, sensors, algorithms, advanced image processing tools, and data platforms, Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 15+ years of experience with image science and remote sensing platforms, sensors, algorithms, advanced image processing tools, and data platforms, Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 13+ years of experience with image science and remote sensing platforms, sensors, algorithms, advanced image processing tools, and data platforms, or Doctorate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 10+ years of experience with image science and remote sensing platforms, sensors, algorithms, advanced image processing tools, and data platforms

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of modern machine learning and computer vision technology

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
