 Role Purpose

  • Why this role matters:
    As the SEO & SEM Manager, you will play a key role in driving discoverability, engagement, and performance across our digital properties. This role will shape how users find and interact with our brand online—directly influencing acquisition, visibility, and revenue. Your work will solve the challenge of standing out in saturated digital markets and unlock scalable growth through data-driven optimization.
  • What success looks like:
    In your first year, you will:
    • Conduct a full audit of search performance and deploy a comprehensive SEO/SEM strategy within the first 90 days. 
    • Deliver measurable gains by Month 6—such as a 20% lift in organic traffic and lower cost-per-acquisition across paid search. 
    • Optimize existing platforms and introduce advanced tools like GA4 or automated bidding scripts to further scale value delivery by Month 12.

Key Responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead SEO strategy and execution, including on-page, off-page, and technical SEO initiatives to drive organic search growth. Conduct regular audits to identify and act on optimization opportunities.
  • Plan and manage SEM campaigns, launching and optimizing ads across platforms like Google and Bing with a focus on CTR, CPC, CPA, and ROAS.
  • Conduct keyword and competitor research, leveraging insights to inform decision-making and identify new growth channels across both SEO and SEM.
  • Analyze performance and own reporting, using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and ad platforms to produce actionable insights and stakeholder reports.
  • Collaborate on landing page optimization with design, product, and UX teams to improve SEO relevance and SEM conversion performance through A/B testing and iterative enhancements.
  • Oversee paid media budgeting, optimizing spend efficiency and forecast accuracy while maximizing return on investment.
  • Own the tools and tech stack, managing and advancing platforms like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Tag Manager, and Google Ads. Lead implementation of new tools, scripts, or automations to improve accuracy and scale.
  • Work cross-functionally with content, brand, analytics, tech, UX, and broader marketing teams to ensure alignment and integration across initiatives.
  • Drive strategic leadership, managing vendor/agency relationships, setting best practices, and contributing to digital marketing planning cycles.

 Qualifications & Attributes 

We’re seeking someone who embodies the following: 

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (required). 
    • Master’s degree in Digital Marketing, Analytics, or an MBA with a marketing focus is a plus. 
    • Relevant certifications such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, HubSpot Inbound Marketing, and SEO certifications from SEMrush or HubSpot Academy are highly preferred. 
  • Experience:
    • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in SEO and SEM roles, with a proven track record managing performance marketing, search engine strategies, and web optimization. 
    • Experience in e-commerce, digital media, technology, telecom, or B2C digital businesses. 
    • Background in fast-paced, data-driven environments or agency/in-house marketing teams with a customer acquisition focus. 
  • Technical Skills:
    Must-haves:
    • Google Ads (Search & Display) 
    • Google Analytics (GA4) 
    • Google Search Console 
    • SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz 
    • Google Tag Manager (GTM) 
    • Keyword Planner, Data Studio, and Excel/Google Sheets 
    • Solid understanding of on-page SEO, off-page SEO, technical SEO, audience segmentation, bidding strategies, and A/B testing 

Nice-to-haves: 

    • JavaScript, HTML/CSS familiarity for SEO troubleshooting 
    • CMS experience (e.g. WordPress, Sitecore) 
    • Exposure to AI SEO tools (e.g. Surfer SEO, Clearscope, ChatGPT for prompts) 
    • Experience with retargeting strategies and multi-channel attribution 
    • BI tools like Power BI, Tableau 
    • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana, Jira, Trello) 
  • Language Requirements:
    • Fluency in English and Spanish is required, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will be able to manage campaigns, collaborate cross-functionally, and report insights in both languages.
