Reporting to the Team Lead, Metering and Data Management, The Metering Data Management Support Analyst plays a key role in the operation and evolution of our Metering infrastructure and systems. This role combines knowledge of electrical theory, telecommunications networks (including RF mesh and cellular systems), and data analytics to support day-to-day operations and the continued success of ENMAX metering. The successful candidate will support data validation, dashboard development, process refinement, and stakeholder support, all while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure the successful planning and fulfillment of activities required to support growth and sustainment of ENMAX’s AMI network of > 600K endpoints to satisfy the needs of the business. 

  • Support development and ongoing refinement of processes, procedures, reporting, and tools to accommodate needs of the AMI Program and, continuous improvement of the Team. 

  • Lead, design, build and publish dashboards and reports for Metering and AMI operations, in addition to ad hoc stakeholder queries to respond to and / or accommodate business requirements. 

  • Support the Metering and Data Management business unit by operating and maintaining the Honeywell Mobile Collector including but not limited to operating the Mobile Collector, building route files, importing, exporting, and validating reading data. 

  • Manage the collection, storage, validation, and transfer of metering data for MDM Meter Reading and Metering Services using metering / meter reading systems and reporting platforms. 

  • Maintain meter reading handhelds and Blackline LonerGPS™ Mobile Worker Safety Solution and other Field devices/hardware, ensuring all repairs are completed. 

  • Represent the Metering and Data Management business unit internally and externally during customer escalations related to or caused by meter data. 

  • Maintain meter reading routes and cycles for Meter Reading operations including forecasting and formatting production schedule for Meter Reading operations. 

  • Lead in development and delivery of internal training and supporting documentation for use by the Metering and Data Management, Meter Shop Operations, and Meter Installation Teams. 

  • Manage Meter Reading and Metering Service contractual obligations and relationships with ENMAX AMP customers and selected Meter Reading contractors. 

  • Work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Education Required: 

  • Related Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience or a Technical Diploma and 6 years of related experience .

  • Previous metering experience is an asset  

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • 4 + years related experience 

  • Understanding of electrical theory as it relates to metering. 

  • Experience with telecommunications systems, (RF mesh and cellular network communications). 

  • Progressive experience with data modeling, integration, analysis, validation, presentation, and dashboard/report development. 

  • Advanced technical writing and documentation skills.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the regulations laid out in the AUC System Settlement Codes Rule 021 and Rule 002. 

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Hands-on experience with testing methodologies and quality assurance.

  • Ability to quickly learn and quickly adapt to and new technologies and software.

  • Recent experience with meteorology and MDM tools and technologies is an asset  (Honeywell, Connexo, Metercat) is an asset.

Salary: Analyst Level C (Current CUPE 2025 rates) 

$99,626.44 - $105,855.57 - $112,084.70 - $118,313.83 - $124,542.96 

 

Location: This position will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
