Summary
We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate or graduate students for a Research Internship focused on cutting-edge AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), LangChain-powered multi-agent systems, and multimodal data analysis. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in applying agentic AI to data analysis in industrial domains.
As a Research Intern, you will work alongside experience researchers and engineers to contribute to the development of LLM-integrated multi-agent architectures that process and reason over diverse data types (e.g., sensor streams, structured logs, natural language reports). You will also work on building statistical analysis pipelines and causal inference models to extract actionable insights and enhance system-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design and prototype LLM-based multi-agent systems tailored to industrial-scale, multimodal data environments.
Implement statistical analysis tools and causal modeling techniques to evaluate system behavior and uncover hidden dependencies.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to apply reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and agentic AI techniques to real-world decision-making tasks.
Validate model performance and system reliability through rigorous experimentation and data-driven benchmarks.
Present research outcomes and contribute to publications, reports, and internal documentation.
A Day in the Life
Work with mentors to define technical goals around agentic workflows and multimodal data integration.
Explore recent advancements in LLM orchestration frameworks to build interpretable, modular agentic systems.
Code, test, and refine AI models that combine statistical reasoning with causal inference over diverse industrial datasets.
Communicate results through presentations and written reports.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or other relevant engineering departments.
Strong programming skills in Python (or similar languages) and some exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or similar LLM orchestration frameworks.
Coursework or experience in deep learning and large language models.
Hands-on experience or coursework in building or integrating LLMs for agentic AI-based services, especially in industrial or engineering domains.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (preferably PyTorch).
Interest or background in power systems, control systems, or power management.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong aptitude towards building and testing projects.
Available for a full-time (40h/week) internship for a minimum of 3-4 months starting July/August 2025.
Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a master’s or higher degree course. Must be able to relocate to the internship location.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or exposure to agentic AI framework.
Prior research or project experience in AI for physical systems or industrial applications, especially involving LLMs and agentic AI.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, or deploy LLM-powered agentic workflows for industrial or engineering use cases.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
If you are passionate about leveraging deep learning, LLMs, and agentic AI to solve real-world challenges in power and control systems, we encourage you to apply. This internship offers a unique opportunity to grow your technical skills, collaborate with leading experts, and contribute to impactful research.
