The Position
Role Purpose
You'll act as a key strategic leader, interacting with cross-functional teams to identify critical questions and issues for data analysis and experimentation. This will involve undertaking research into scientific approaches, utilizing state-of-the-art methodologies, and collaborating with academic institutions or data vendors to analyze complex datasets and interpret results.
This role is responsible for strategically leading and strengthening the organization's Real-World Data (RWD) capabilities to maximize patient impact. You'll achieve this by designing, developing, and programming methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sources. Your primary goal is to generate actionable insights and solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ultimately driving patient value and enhancing products.
Role scope:
Provide strategic evidence generation-related inputs with a solid understanding of the business context for portfolio and pipeline products across therapeutic areas.
Responsible for the execution of RWD Scientific Projects as defined and agreed in the OBP and work packages.
Possess strong expertise in analyzing, interpreting, and communicating complex RWD data.
Author or contribute to study reports, publications, and presentations.
Identify, manage, and collaborate with external stakeholders/vendors on the design and implementation of RWD studies.
Maintain process standards across therapeutic areas according to Roche SOPs, TFDA requirements, and GPP guidelines.
Design and/or review RWD studies aimed at investigating natural history of disease, treatment patterns, comparative effectiveness, or potential safety signals in line with desired regulatory, clinical, and/or access outcomes.
Actively seek opportunities internally or externally for innovative collaborations through science, technical, and process improvement to address business needs and promote RWE acceptance, including but not limited to using novel sources of RWD and adapting novel technologies, such as AI, ML, or NLP.
Explore, establish, and maintain external and internal strategic partnerships of TAE networks in clinical/academia/policy communities in regards of RWE to improve the deliveries of RWE outcomes.
Lead large/cross-functional teams, projects, or initiatives across areas and deliver impacts above country.
Leverage the unique position and advantage of Taiwan RWD infrastructure to contribute to networking across the board.
Provide internal/external training to relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to medical, marketing, access experts, as well as PPOC.
Good understanding of internal and external real-world data sources (private and public).
Act as an internal consultant to provide technical expertise on RWE/epidemiology basics.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Good Compliance track record. No material Compliance violation is identified in the past 5 years
Education:Minimum: PhD or Master of Public Health, Pharmacoeconomics or equivalent with strong proven working experience in real-world evidence generation.
Working Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing complex medical evidence programs, i.e. health welfare database research (must), qualitative research and clinical studies (nice to have) etc.
Skills & Knowledge:
Good knowledge of compliance requirements and clear understanding of high standards of Integrity.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, understand and apply different technical approaches, and have a wide understanding of different real-world databases.
Ability to work effectively in a matrix team.
Competencies:
Expert knowledge of epidemiology/observational methodologies and applications.
Previous experience as a key RWD scientist or lead epidemiologist.
Good knowledge of statistical programming skills (including SAS programming).
Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as required.
Demonstrated project management skills are strongly preferred.
Business acumen.
Be able to handle technical discussion in fluent English.
