We're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams. We operate at high scale – trillions of data points per day—providing always-on alerting, metrics visualization, logs, and application tracing for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.
The Technical Solutions team fuels Datadog's global growth by educating potential clients and ensuring existing customers maximize the value of our products. As a Data Analyst II in the Technical Solutions (TS) department, you will empower teams – including Sales Engineering, Support Engineering, and Technical Post Sales – to be data-driven in their daily operations, delivering a first-class support experience for all Datadog customers. You will revamp processes requiring data and analytics, initiating data-driven change. As part of the internal Technical Solutions Operations team, you'll join a broader Data Analyst community across the company, with opportunities to grow and use cutting-edge analytics tools.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Business Analytics: Build a deep understanding of the Technical Solutions team’s value proposition, operations, and systems to proactively identify opportunities where data can help scale impact.
- Define & Measure KPIs: Partner with team leads to define meaningful, actionable KPIs that track operational health and program success.
- Shape the Data Layer: Contribute to the data modeling layer using dbt – updating existing models and developing new ones optimized for self-serve analytics.
- Build Insightful Dashboards: Design and maintain dashboards that surface key insights, support deep dives, and offer a seamless user experience.
- Deliver Actionable Insights: Conduct deep-dive analyses using internal data sources, presenting clear, actionable findings to stakeholders at all levels.
- Improve Operations with Data: Identify and drive data-informed improvements to processes, helping the organization work more efficiently and effectively.
- Enable Data Literacy: Empower teams through training and guidance on how to leverage data independently, fostering a data-informed culture.
Who You Are:
You’re a data-driven analyst who loves turning numbers into insights that drive real impact. Curious and collaborative, you thrive at making data accessible and meaningful for stakeholders.
- Experienced & Proficient: You have 2+ years in data analytics, fluent in analytical SQL, and experienced with tools like Metabase, Looker, or Tableau. You’ve worked with modern warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery) and ideally tools like dbt or Airbyte.
- Analytical & Insightful: You’re not just about what the data says – you dig into the “why.” You can clearly communicate trends and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stakeholder-Focused: You enjoy working closely with teams to define data needs and build solutions that support decision-making. You help others become more data-informed.
- Independent & Impact-Oriented: You’re comfortable owning projects and making progress autonomously, while also contributing to cross-functional efforts.
- Bonus Points: Experience with GTM systems (Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira), SaaS product data, or analytics enablement is a plus. So is a quantitative degree or background in high-scale tech environments.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
