We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consulting Director of Data and Analytics to lead strategic client engagements, drive executive-level relationships, and oversee the delivery of research-driven solutions that unlock business value. This individual combines strong leadership with technical expertise in data strategy, analytics, AI/ML, and modern data platforms and modern data ecosystems (e.g., cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, etc). and a strong understanding of BI tools, data governance, data science, and AI/ML use cases. You will act as a trusted advisor to our clients while managing high-impact, multi-disciplinary consulting teams. Ideal candidates will have been trained in structured consulting methodologies and understand what high-performance consulting looks like in practice.
What You’ll Do
As a Consulting Director, you will play a leadership role in delivering high-impact consulting engagements across a diverse range of projects and industries, with a focus on Data and Analytics-related business problems. These may include strategic planning, governance, transformation, new technology adoption and OCM, and more – spanning both business and technical functions of our members.
Our Consulting Directors are responsible for high-level project delivery, quality and oversight along with client relationship management. You will manage teams and advise C-level clients on both strategic and tactical topics, focusing on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes.
Your work will focus on building long-term strategic relationships with clients across North America, addressing complex, strategic challenges and delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that create measurable value for our clients.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Info-Tech partners including your consulting peers, Sales, Research and others to identify opportunities for Info-Tech to help clients solve their most pressing concerns. You’ll lead client discussions on their problems, our solutions and lead the development of Consulting proposals. You’ll work closely in both a leadership and individual contributor role with small teams to deliver client work on multiple concurrent projects. You’ll also contribute to the growth of our division by developing intellectual capital and supporting business development initiatives with your colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Collaborate with Consulting peers, Sales and Research teams, and with Consulting team members to understand client needs and their business drivers, and lead the creation of proposals, statements of work, and client presentations.
- Lead the pursuit and closure of new consulting opportunities through qualification efforts, proposal development, and strategic client discussions.
- Identify and lead opportunities for additional services and consulting engagements that align with client priorities and strategic goals.
- Build long-term trust-based relationships with clients that support on-going ITRG business and client success across a range of topics, over time.
- Synthesize and translate complex technical realities into business terms and define business objectives and constraints from complex technology-enabled business realities.
Project Delivery
- Act as the executive sponsor (client-face of Consulting, including escalations and QA roles), and where needed lead the delivery of consulting engagements across all project phases, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder alignment, and delivery. Be ultimately responsible for the delivery of high-quality work and client satisfaction.
- Lead, support and mentor delivery teams through their comprehensive current-state and future-state assessments, synthesizing of findings, the development of actionable recommendations tailored to client goals and the development of talk-tracks to support executive briefings.
- Present insights, methodologies, and deliverables to IT and executive leadership, clearly articulating strategic implications, and value-driven outcomes.
- Lead delivery teams in the development of compelling client-facing materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, showcasing solutions and strategic roadmaps.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, sponsors, and project managers to ensure alignment and satisfaction throughout the engagement.
Practice Development
- Collaborate across Consulting to support strategic planning and go-to-market initiatives that drive the growth of Info-Tech’s Consulting division.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of consulting methodologies and project delivery through the identification and implementation of best practices and all new Intellectual Property we develop.
- Lead internal initiatives to mature and innovate our Data and Analytics capabilities from inception to completion, helping to enhance operational efficiency, knowledge sharing, collaboration and business development.
Education & Experience
- MBA desired. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in your field of study;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a management consulting role, using structured problem-solving, with a proven track record of building and delivering client-facing solutions that address mission-critical client priorities – all with high standards of client delivery;
- Strong business acumen to communicate to C-level clients about their strategic priorities and considerations and how to avoid risk and protect business value;
- Demonstrated experience in developing consulting business, including crafting proposals, responding to RFPs, and writing Statements of Work;
- Excellent executive-level, client-facing skills with a demonstrable history of building trusted relationships and delivering value in in both business and technology environments;
- You must be a highly self-motivated, career-driven self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and is eager to contribute to a growing practice;
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights;
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring more junior team members. You possess strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to delegate effectively, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with proficiency in developing executive-level presentations and reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Comfortable working with stakeholders at all organizational levels and navigating complex client environments;
- Committed to client success, continuous learning, and contributing to the development of best practices within the consulting team.
Core Consulting Skills
- Client Engagement & Facilitation: Build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients through effective communication—both virtually and in-person. Facilitate productive discussions, workshops, and meetings that drive alignment and clarity.
- Project & Program Management: Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of consulting engagements, including budget oversight and timeline management. Lead and navigate complex client dynamics, manage scope, and set clear expectations to ensure successful outcomes.
- Business Development Support: Contribute to the growth of the Consulting business by consistently and efficiently identifying client needs, leading the development of tailored, contextualized proposals and closing business.
- Critical & Strategic Thinking: Develop and test hypotheses, based on Research and experience, and use that thinking to guide teams in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data that inform strategic recommendations. Structure and lead problem-solving efforts for complex multi-dimensional client challenges, aligning outcomes with client goals.
- Communication & Influence: Deliver clear, concise, and visually compelling presentations and reports. Communicate complex ideas in a way that resonates with diverse audiences, builds buy-in and consensus, and manage expectations with professionalism and tact.
- Executive Presence & Presentation Skills:Confidently engage with senior stakeholders and executive teams, demonstrating credibility, poise, and the ability to influence decision-making through thoughtful dialogue and impactful presentations. You must have the ability to clearly communicate the business value and bottom-line impacts of technology decisions to a non-technical audience.
- Business Strategy & Capability Development: Help clients design and implement strategies that accelerate operational and technical maturity. Bring innovative thinking to the development of new capabilities and transformation initiatives.
- People Leadership and Mentoring: You will have a consistent track record of leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage Technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of your clients. You have an unwavering commitment to the success of your team, and willingness to provide constructive/ corrective coaching and mentoring when needed.
