Description

The Data Governance Analyst is a professional responsible for supporting the implementation, administration, promotion, and maintenance of data governance practices within Davies. This role involves assisting with the Davies global Data Governance initiative and supporting the development of data governance frameworks to ensure reliable data management and usage. While the role has a ‘data’ focus, it is not a technical role and is independent from both IT and Development functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift timings - UK – 2pm to 11pm 
• End-User of Data Security / Data Governance application (Microsoft Purview) to maintain master data sets, monitor dashboards, and triage alerts.
• Monitor and report on the accuracy of Purview data scanning and policy results.
• Data Governance Support: Assist in the development and implementation of data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain data integrity, security, across Davies.
• Data Governance Reporting: Development, amendment, and administration of various data governance oversight reports – both ad hoc and scheduled – metrics including KPI’s, KRI’s.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate with data owners, data stewards, and other key stakeholders to promote data governance best practices and facilitate data governance initiatives.
• Metadata Management: Help manage metadata repositories and ensure that required metadata is correctly collected and input into the various sources.
• Training and Documentation: Provide support in training staff on data governance policies, procedures, and tools, and assist in creating documentation to aid understanding and compliance.
• Be able to undertake research and fact-finding tasks related to data management, data technology, data governance and 
• Delegate for Head of Data Governance in various meetings when required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• We require a minimum of 3 years in similar roles.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, building a rapport with our stakeholders.
• High proficiency in Excel.
• A working experience in data governance, data management, or related areas. 
• An understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
• Basic knowledge of data governance management tools, e.g. Purview.
• The ability to absorb new skills and knowledge quickly and effectively.
• Good working knowledge of Power BI required for intermediate reporting duties.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse data sets and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Ability to effectively communicate data governance concepts and practices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required in all tasks.
