Job Summary 

Keyrus is seeking an SAS/Python Specialist to join a critical data transformation initiative, supporting the migration of legacy SAS processes to a modern, scalable Python-based platform. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising data pipelines, ensuring performance, scalability, and alignment with business requirements.

• Location: Portugal (Might require On-site attendance).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the migration of data workflows from SAS to Python, ensuring functionality and performance are maintained or improved
• Design and implement robust Python solutions tailored to business and technical needs
• Optimise existing data pipelines and develop new algorithms for improved efficiency and scalability
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver production-ready solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in Python processes
• Document code, migration strategies, and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability

Requirements for the role 

• 5+ years of experience with Python, preferably in senior or lead roles
• Strong background in PySpark or Scala for distributed data processing tasks
• Solid knowledge of SQL, data structures, and algorithm optimisation techniques
• Hands-on experience with SAS, especially SAS Data Integration Studio
• Proven experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
• Nice to have: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices
• Fluent in English
• Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
