- You are passionate about turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that have a real-world impact.
- You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoy sharing knowledge with your team.
- You are a proactive and adaptable individual, ready to take ownership of your work from concept to completion.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain workflows to process and analyze SAR data, extracting critical insights for natural catastrophe applications.
- Leverage your expertise in remote sensing and signal processing to develop, test, and implement new SAR analytics capabilities from prototype to operational use.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and scientists across teams and timezones to solve complex problems and contribute to innovative solutions.
- Assist in the validation and testing of new algorithms and processing workflows.
- Communicate technical findings and results clearly to the team and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Remote Sensing, Geoscience, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience in remote sensing or signal processing applications (strong academic projects, including a Master's thesis, can be considered as relevant experience).
- Solid understanding of remote sensing principles and data analysis, particularly for damage and change detection using radar and optical data.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, algorithm development, and automation.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab.
- Commitment to engineering best practices (e.g., code reviews, testing, documentation) to work seamlessly with data and software engineers to build operational solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in an international environment with globally distributed teams.
- Familiarity with various geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoTIFF, Geopackage) and tools.
- A solid theoretical and practical understanding of SAR principles is required.
Nice to Have
- A background in signal processing, particularly as it relates to radar and SAR systems.
