At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.Ā

We are seeking a Staff Product Manager to join the Counterpart team, focusing on accurately diagnosing and effectively treating patients. This role directly contributes to our company mission of Improving Every Life.Ā  You will be expected to autonomously lead the pod in ideating key metrics, forming hypotheses and strategies against these, and executing to drive value. As a Staff PM, you will influence peers across the product organization by example.

In this role, you will lead the Appropriate Diagnosis and Treatments pod and collaborate with a team of engineers, data scientists, designers, and clinicians. You will create better patient outcomes through some combination of (a) identifying gaps in data and how to close them, (b) building or improving models to predict patients’ conditions, (c) surfacing possible conditions in a way PCPs can effectively react and treat, and/or (d) following patient care and course-correcting to drive improved health. You will leverage creativity to operate at this complex intersection of data-driven diagnosis and user-centric treatment.

As a Staff Product Manager for Appropriate Diagnosis and Treatment, you will:

  • Assume ultimate accountability for the pod's outcomes.Ā  You will develop a clear and compelling vision and strategy for an entire product area, align leadership and stakeholders to that plan, define and implement rigorous metrics to accurately assess progress, and clearly articulate the impact of the pod's initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and champion strategic initiatives that simultaneously optimize patient outcomes and drive significant business value. You make critical decisions regarding resource allocation and investment to maximize ROI and strategic impact.
  • Serve as the definitive subject matter expert for the pod, possessing a deep understanding of user needs, business imperatives, industry trends, and the intricacies of primary care physician workflows and documentation. Whatever you don’t know, you rapidly find out.
  • Run a highly effective and efficient pod. You don’t just launch features quickly; you autonomously align the team around outcomes, swiftly knock down or escalate blockers, launch, measure, and iterate until you drive business results. You clearly communicate plans and progress, and know when to double-down vs. pivot.
  • Act as a force multiplier by deeply understanding the overarching product and business strategy, actively knowledge-sharing, collaborating, and modeling outcome-drive operating principles beyond just your pod.

Success in this role looks like:

  • You understand PCP workflows and mindsets, and leverage expertise around you to bring diagnoses to physicians in a way that builds trust and delights them.
  • You execute pod operations like a champ from day one. You bring industry expertise and product skills to the space, enabling you to quickly move in-flight projects forward.Ā Ā
  • You adjust your pod’s priorities to maximize the effective treatment of our members, and articulate that progress through concrete metrics and anecdotes.Ā  You suggest changes to metrics or strategies when they are not achieving higher-level results.
  • You leverage in-depth knowledge across data platforms and ML models, PCP interaction and optimization, and eventual treatment and patient health to identify opportunities to move patient health and our business forward.
  • You define the vision and strategy for the Appropriate Diagnosis and Treatment pod, taking into account adjacent pods and overall business strategy, and turn this into a 3-6 month product plan.Ā  You articulate the why as well as the what, make appropriate tradeoffs, and form the right metrics to measure success.
  • You move the business and our patients’ health forward, leading to better, earlier treatments for our members – often in ways that weren’t immediately obvious.Ā
  • You influence those around you, helping us to continually become a better product and technology org.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have a minimum of 8 years of product experience.
  • You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in health-tech, including startup and PCP-facing experience.
  • You have experience being part of an empowered product organization.
  • You are proficient with SQL and data analysis.
  • You own outcomes. Product launches are fun, but seeing the impact of the pod’s work driving improved patient outcomes is what motivates you.
  • You have a working knowledge of outpatient clinical documentation artifacts, and how they relate to patient diagnoses and outcomes.Ā
  • You have experience building ML-backed products.
