Theyâre now looking an experienced Data Engineer to join a small but high-impact team, driving forward the architecture, development, and maintenance of modern, cloud-based data infrastructure.
These roles will focus on building scalable data pipelines and integrations that directly support real-time reporting, dashboarding, and decision-making across the business. This is a unique opportunity to help lay the foundation of a greenfield data environment that will shape the future of data-led strategy across multiple departments.
Your key job responsibilities as the Data Engineer in Lusaka, Zambia will include:
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to support business-critical integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and build scalable data models.
- Support the development and maintenance of the companyâs cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Ensure data reliability, scalability, and performance across platforms.
- Contribute to the growth of a cutting-edge analytics environment through automation and best practices.

Requirements
Requirements for this Data Engineer job in Lusaka, Zambia:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS (but Azure/GCP also considered).
- Proficiency with tools like Redshift, BigQuery, Apache Spark/EMR, Docker, Python, and SQL.
- Strong command of orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect, Mage).
- Experience with MPP data processing and large-scale pipeline architecture.
- Comfortable with modern data modelling techniques (e.g. Snowflake, Star Schema).
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, QuickSight or Looker Studio.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (preferably using Terraform).
- Experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfortable working in small, agile teams.
- Highly independent and proactive, with a passion for innovation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited about greenfield projects.
- Experience working on greenfield builds and setting up data integrations from scratch.
- Passion for or background in the iGaming, sports betting or entertainment tech space.
