Senior Data Engineer (Hybrid)

InnoWave is looking for a dynamic and agile Senior Data Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid position in Lisbon.

Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Work with large-scale datasets in both structured and semi-structured formats.
• Optimize data storage and processing using cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS S3, Glue, Redshift).
• Apply best practices in data modeling (star schema, snowflake, SCDs, columnar models).
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance standards are met.
• Support data integration with BI/reporting tools and analytics platforms.
  
  

Skills 

• Degree or Master in Computer Science, Management Informatics or similar.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in large-scale or enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift).
• Familiarity with PySpark or other distributed data processing frameworks.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and cloud data storage formats such as Parquet.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English - written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
