🌟 Role Overview
Join our team as a Data Manager and lead the transformation of massive datasets into business-driving insights. You'll architect scalable data solutions, deploy machine learning models for complex problems, and guide a team of data professionals using cutting-edge AWS technologies.
This hands-on leadership role combines large-scale data engineering, applied machine learning, and technical mentorship. You'll process terabytes of data, deploy predictive models for imbalanced datasets, and shape our data strategy while delivering measurable business results.
👨💻 👩💻 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Engineering
Lead the design and operation of scalable, distributed data architectures within the AWS ecosystem. Process massive data volumes (terabytes+) and manage full lifecycle data pipelines using AWS Glue, EMR, Spark, and Airflow while ensuring robust, efficient, and secure infrastructure.
Machine Learning & MLOps
Oversee end-to-end ML lifecycle, including building, training, and deploying models for complex imbalanced problems (fraud detection, rare events). Implement MLOps best practices with model versioning (MLflow, SageMaker), CI/CD deployment (Git, Docker), and rigorous A/B testing in production.
Technical Leadership
Guide and mentor data engineers and scientists through hands-on leadership. Foster quality culture through code reviews, technical standards, and project management using Jira/Asana. Drive projects from ideation to delivery with clear communication and business alignment.
Qualifications
Data & Cloud Expertise
- Proven experience with terabyte-scale data processing and distributed architectures
- Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, Redshift) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases
- Mastery of Big Data tools: Apache Spark, Hadoop, PySpark, Kafka, Airflow
- Hands-on AWS analytics stack experience: Glue, EMR, S3, Lambda, Athena, Redshift
Machine Learning & MLOps
- Experience building and deploying models for imbalanced datasets (fraud detection, rare events)
- Strong command of ML algorithms: XGBoost, LightGBM, neural networks, logistic regression
- Practical knowledge of model evaluation (AUC, Precision/Recall, F1-score) and A/B testing
- Experience with MLflow, SageMaker, Feature Stores, and CI/CD for model deployment
Leadership & Project Management
- Technical leadership experience mentoring data teams
- Strong code review and quality standards implementation
- End-to-end project management skills (Jira, Asana)
- Excellent presentation abilities and business communication
- Critical thinking with a humble, goal-oriented mindset
Bonus Skills
- Terraform and data governance tools experience
- AWS IAM, security policies, and infrastructure automation (CloudFormation/Terraform)
