Icelandair is looking for a dedicated professional to lead its Planning & Performance department in Operations. The Manager Planning & Performance will lead a team of analysts and data scientists dedicated to improving operational performance and decision-making both in short- and long-term.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and inspire a multidisciplinary team of analysts, performance managers and data scientists driving the successful delivery of diverse projects across Operations
  • Lead and develop tools and models to enhance key operational performance drivers, including on-time performance, turnaround time, disruptions and other data related to schedule integrity and operational robustness
  • Facilitate and develop integrated resource planning within Operations on the 18-month and 5-year horizons, including fleet spare capacity planning for optimum operational efficiency
  • Translate complex operational data into actionable business cases that support cost savings and efficiency gains in-line with company goals
  • Ensure tools, dashboards and reporting mechanisms support proactive decision-making
  • Monitor and report on performance KPIs to leadership and support monthly and quarterly business reviews
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Aviation Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics positions is preferable
  • Proven experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, SQL is required, experience with Python is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confident in presenting ideas and projects with ability to simplify the complex
