Operations Research Analyst/Modeler

LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst/Modeler to join our team in supporting the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on location in Reston, Virginia. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

The applicant will contribute to an exciting project to advance Department of Defense (DoD) capability to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs. The selected individual will serve on a broader multi-disciplinary team of operational military and intelligence community subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed by DARPA.

The applicant may lead study-specific integrated product teams comprised of government and partner stakeholders. Applicant must be able to develop an experiment design approach, identify key metrics for simulation output, analyze results, generate insights and information, and present findings to senior DoD leaders. Provides technical direction to junior analysts to execute tasks on schedule and to exercise quality control over study deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, or other related technical degree requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics to include calculus
• 10 years of experience (or a technical Master's degree with 8 years of experience)
• Experience developing and implementing simulation models to inform executive decision-making
• Working knowledge/experience in Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, JupyterLab, R, and/or Anaconda, etc.
• Strong technical project management skills
• Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team
• Ability to coordinate with government and external contractor stakeholders to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify objectives
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• US Citizenship
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility
• Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Extensive knowledge/experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts
• Strong knowledge of Design of Experiments and Data Mining/Seeding techniques
• Capable, working level knowledge of AFSIM
• Familiarity with NGTS, ITASE, or other mission-level modeling and simulation (M&S) environment
• Working level knowledge of behavior modeling in AFSIM, NGTS, or other similar mission-level M&S framework
