Job Summary
The RBC Capital Markets Client Intelligence team is responsible for providing client data and analytics to the Global Markets Sales & Trading and Corporate & Investment Banking divisions. The team leverages data sources across revenue, financial resource consumption, competitor benchmarking, client touchpoints & interactions and client feedback to deliver actionable client insights. The work we do enables the business to effectively monitor business performance, grow client revenues and make informed business decisions in efforts to optimize resources and revenues.Job Description
What is the opportunity?
In this newly created role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to lead strategic cross-functional initiatives that will have a long-lasting impact on our business. You’ll be focused on improving the accuracy and timeliness of our firm’s client data and prioritize work to improve the firm’s client hierarchy. You’ll meet with stakeholders to understand their requirements, partner with operations and data management teams to design and implement a target operating model and liaise with technology to enhance and re-design a future state data architecture. You’ll have the opportunity to drive a high-profile firm-wide initiative and build a team to support the new infrastructure.
What will you do?
Collaborate: Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, functional partners and technology teams to identify areas for process improvements and develop technical solutions
Increase Efficiencies: Streamline processes and improve efficiencies, leading to faster project completion and better resource utilization
Drive Change: Consistently look for ways to automate existing manual processes, driving change management to improve processes, accuracy of data & reporting, and efficiencies
Drive Accountability and Transparency: Establish clear accountability for program outcomes and promote transparency in decision-making
Establish Communication and Reporting Principals: Establish clear communication channels and reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders informed about progress and key issues
Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Clearly define roles and responsibilities to enhance stakeholder engagement and build trust
Reduce Risks and Costs: Effective risk management and decision-making to reduce the likelihood of unforeseen issues and associated costs
Mitigate Risk: Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the program, ensuring that they are addressed effectively
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Proven track record of leading cross-functional process re-engineering initiatives
Experience managing staff in different regions and time zones
Collaborative approach to problem solving; ability to build strong internal partnerships and relationships with stakeholders
Capital Markets experience, knowledge of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Futures and Equities) or Corporate & Investment Banking businesses
In depth knowledge of Capital Markets clients such as fund managers and hedge funds and client data management and/or client on-boarding experience
Ability to effectively communicate to senior management in a concise manner and effectively convey messaging including the creation of PowerPoint slides
Ambitious & driven self-starter; doesn’t settle for status quo and consistently looks for ways to improve with little oversight / direction
Flexibility to meet business deadlines; ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities at once
Strong data management skills including experience with Excel, Tableau or other BI tools
Bachelor’s degree or higher; at least 8 years of work experience in data management
Nice to have:
Industry knowledge and/or experience using third party client data providers
Experience working in a trading floor environment with the ability to manage expectations in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Tableau, Alteryx, Confluence and/or JIRA
