IC4 – Sr Data Analyst 

Reports to: Analytics Chapter Leader, Head Analytics Chapter

Role Objective

The Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that shape strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement across the organization. As a senior contributor, you will independently lead analytical initiatives, mentor less experienced analysts, and act as a trusted partner to business and technical teams. This role requires a combination of advanced analytical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to influence decisions through clear, evidence-based recommendations. You will proactively identify opportunities, design robust analytical approaches, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance both performance and customer experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analytical Leadership: Independently design and execute complex analyses to address high-impact business questions, using advanced statistical methods and experimentation frameworks.
  • Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to gather, clarify, and challenge requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Impact Evaluation: Define, design, and evaluate business impact experiments under a causal inference framework, including block randomized, pair randomized, and factorial designs, A/B testing, treatment-control and interventionist evaluations, observational studies, and the determination and isolation of measurable and non-measurable confounders, as well as quasi-experiments.
  • Problem Investigation: Identify analytical opportunities and recommend solutions that drive operational improvements and inform strategic decisions.
  • Requirements Definition: Translate business objectives into detailed analytical requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment across functions.
  • Agile Documentation: Oversee the documentation of tasks under agile methodologies, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Solution Delivery: Collaborate with data engineering, governance, and self-service teams to implement solutions that meet enterprise standards and support scalable analytics.
  • Insight Communication: Deliver compelling narratives that translate complex data into actionable insights, influencing senior stakeholders and driving decision-making.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively mentor junior analysts and stay current on new tools, techniques, and industry best practices to strengthen team capabilities.

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • 4–6 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or similar roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with complex data structures.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based data architectures and ingestion processes.
  • Solid experience designing and evaluating experiment-like initiatives under a causal inference framework, including block randomized, pair randomized, and factorial designs, A/B testing, treatment-control and interventionist evaluations, observational studies, and the determination and isolation of measurable and non-measurable confounders, as well as quasi-experiments.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, visualization, and experimentation workflows.
  • Experience designing and delivering BI dashboards and reports with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Desirable: experience with query performance optimization and scalable data solutions.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify business challenges and independently develop analytical approaches to address them.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to translate findings into clear recommendations for a senior audience.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding less experienced analysts.

Must:

  • Proven exposure in credit risk analytics and monitoring tools of personal loans / credit cards in acquisitions and / or expected loss and / or collections context.
  • Solid understanding of credit lifecycle of personal loans / credit cards
  • Familiarity with credit rules, acquisition funnel, payments and collections processes.
  • Solid understanding of CNBV-Banxico-Basilea regulatory requirements.
  • Strong assessment abilities to validate credit data quality, identify deviations and guarantee data consistency at a granular and aggregated level.
