Field AI is transforming how robots interact with the real world. We are building risk-aware, reliable, and field-ready AI systems that address the most complex challenges in robotics, unlocking the full potential of embodied intelligence. We go beyond typical data-driven approaches or pure transformer-based architectures, and are charting a new course, with already-globally-deployed solutions delivering real-world results and rapidly improving models through real-field applications.
Job Summary:
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining a robust, secure, and high-performance IT infrastructure that powers our R&D, simulation, and deployment environments. You will support a hybrid workforce of developers, roboticists, ML engineers, and hardware teams working with large datasets, compute-heavy workloads, and real-time systems.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Administer and support workstations, servers, network devices, and IT systems in a Linux-heavy environment.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions across local and hybrid environments.
  • Maintain on-prem and integrated storage systems, version control infrastructure (e.g., Git, GitLab), and build environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support dev environments (e.g., Docker, ROS, CI/CD tools)
  • Monitor and tune system and network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Support endpoint protection, system hardening, vulnerability scanning, and patch automation.
  • Manage remote access using modern zero trust and secure web gateway solutions (e.g., Cloudflare)
  • Assist with user onboarding/offboarding and handle IT service tickets.
  • Ensure backup routines, disaster recovery readiness, and alignment with IT security policies.
  • Support lab environments and help set up specialized or embedded hardware.

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3+ years of technical experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu preferred)
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible)
  • Solid grasp of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and LAN/WAN configuration
  • Familiar with development toolchains: Git, Docker, Jupyter, VSCode, and continuous integration workflows
  • Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (Federal Projects).

What Will Set You Apart

  • Familiarity with security and IT operations platforms for endpoint detection and response, device management, threat monitoring, application control, and firewall security
  • Experience with network segmentation and switch-level VLAN management
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, or high-performance compute clusters
  • Certifications such as Linux Professional Institute (LPI), CompTIA Linux+, or Security+
Our salary range is generous and we take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
