Professionals within the Legal and Compliance Division (LCD) provide a wide range of services to our business units. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.

The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Department forms the second line of defense for management of the firm's non-financial risks, which include Financial Crimes, market manipulation or abuse and Operational risk.

NFR Data & Analytics is a function in the Legal and Compliance Division responsible for designing and optimizing surveillance models, approaches and tools using advanced analytical techniques like supervised and unsupervised machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and evolving techniques like graph analytics. The surveillances and other tools help identify suspicious and/or illegal behaviors like money laundering, market manipulation, insider trading, unfair sales or trading practices and other financial crimes.

Description-
As part of a team focused on the use of taxonomies to describe and categorize business data, you will be responsible for the management of an integrated suite of categories/taxonomies used within the Non-Financial Risk domain. You will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the organization to design and deliver a broad range of category types. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to learn about Non-Financial Risk within the financial services industry.

You will be able to build your skills by working with taxonomists, information scientists and our Technology partners to deliver industry leading solutions, including the adoption of machine learning and GenAI. Your work will directly support capabilities like semantic search, knowledge graphs, recommendation engines and question/answering capabilities.

We are looking for a candidate with general experience in the use of taxonomies to categorize business data who is interested in building a career in information science. As a taxonomy manager you will help stakeholders develop and implement taxonomies to support various business objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Support client projects to implement taxonomies including hands-on design and development activities
- Manage categories/taxonomies on behalf of the enterprise
- Design and develop product capabilities including taxonomy management, end-user support processes and change management/governance
- Design and develop client adoption and training materials related to taxonomy management - Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of related experience in a corporation, government body or relevant organization
- Experience in the categorization and use of business data in support of business processes such as risk management, vendor management, financial management or procurement

Helpful Skills:
- Direct experience in the financial services industry or in an information management framework
- Experience in business/data analysis and concept/entity extraction to support taxonomy development
- Python scripting experience
- Experience in taxonomy management tools such as Semaphore, PoolParty, Topbraid
- Knowledge of semantic technologies, SKOS modeling and experience using SPARQL
