100% Remote, Canada (EST hours preferred)
Experience: 7+ Years
Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to drive enterprise-grade analytics, reporting, and insights across cross-functional teams. In this role, you'll support data-driven decision-making through advanced BI development, pipeline ownership, and scalable reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards for cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product
- Execute ad-hoc analyses and behavioral deep dives to support critical business decisions
- Lead the end-to-end data pipeline lifecycle: ingestion, modeling, and analytics
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable solutions using structured and unstructured data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Translate business requirements into detailed epics and technical tasks
- Own backlog grooming and sprint planning using Jira
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all analysis and reporting
- Mentor junior analysts through technical guidance and best practice sharing
- Maintain documentation for data engineering workflows and tools
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of experience in big data systems, data processing, and SQL databases
- 5+ years of hands-on programming experience, preferably in Python
- Strong SQL skills with experience in dimensional modeling and data warehousing (Hive, Snowflake)
- Proficient with Power BI for dashboard development and insight sharing
- Exposure to modern data stack tools: Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and Airflow
- Experience working on product analytics and stakeholder-facing insights
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Airflow for pipeline orchestration
- Understanding of version control and modular code practices
- Interest in modern data quality and observability tools
