This is a Lead Data & Analytics Engineering position at the Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust test automation frameworks for backend applications and REST services.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement the firm’s vision and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Develop program-level test plans, long-term test strategies, and roadmaps to support quality initiatives across the organization.

  • Oversee and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance on best practices, technical skills, and career development.

  • Drive the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance management of QA team members.

  • Manage and execute functional, integration, and regression testing for large margin business functions in the retail brokerage domain, with a focus on buying power algorithms, industry regulations, and nightly processing.

  • Utilize SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases (such as Cassandra, MongoDB) to validate data quality and perform backend verifications.

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using tools like Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, and Ready API.

  • Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Circle CI, and maintain test jobs independently.

  • Maintain source code repositories and coordinate code reviews using GitLab and GitHub.

  • Effectively communicate test results and quality metrics through reports such as Cucumber and Extent, ensuring stakeholders are informed of testing progress and outcomes.

  • Foster an agile, collaborative environment by participating in distributed SCRUM teams and supporting agile ceremonies.

  • Apply deep financial industry knowledge, particularly in equities, options, fixed income, and futures trading, to ensure that all test cases meet business and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 12+ years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation or backend application testing.

  • Strong domain knowledge in the Retail brokerage domain, specifically large margin business function e.g Buying power algorithms, requirements, Industry rules and regulations, nightly processing, and recon

  • Be the liaisons between team and the leadership to execute on firm’s and leadership’s vision.

  • 5+ years of people management experience including hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Hands ion experience in creating test automation framework, creating program level test plans, and building long term test strategy and roadmap.

  • Hands on experience with one or more querying languages such SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL and/or No SQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB etc).

  • Hands on experience in testing backend REST services including writing custom functions using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, Ready API etc.

  • Hands on experience of working with continues integration tools such Jenkins, Circle CI

  • Able to independently create and maintain automation test jobs using tools such as Jenkins. Hands on experience working with source code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub,

  • Excellent verbal and written communication as cucumber report, Extent report etc.

  • Experience of working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks such as SCRUM

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
