About the Team

The FinTech team deploys and operates the financial platform that enables Essor’s ability to scale. We design solutions that integrate seller marketplace platforms, supply chain systems and our banking relationships with our core ERP system, incorporating leading practices while constantly finding ways to accelerate onboarding brands onto the platform. We think like finance professionals and innovate like developers, looking for opportunities to automate processes and integrate systems around every corner.

Our technical stack is Git, AWS, Snowflake, Airflow and DBT. We have a very strong culture of code reviews, leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and rely on Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD).

About the Role

You will be joining the FinTech team and will be working together with FinTech Analysts & Finance stakeholders to maintain and grow our datasets in Snowflake through Airflow and DBT, deliver data products and analytical solutions within Essor. 

You must be proficient in data exploration, modeling and analysis to produce the result expected by business sponsors. You need to be a master of SQL and eager to facilitate the resolution of technical issues. A big plus if you have experience with the tools mentioned in our tech stack.

You will be expected to write clean and maintainable code that will transform data from its raw storage form to the models used by our Business team. You will be leveraging the features of Snowflake for documenting data models as you build them. You will be given the responsibility to keep the project tracker we use up to date with your progress in order to keep all stakeholders informed.

What you will do:

• Analyse, transform, prepare data from its raw early stage to the refined models that will be used by the Finance team.
• Support your team to build scalable data platforms.
• Collaborate with the business stakeholders and the product team to define the right solutions, decompose and prioritize the initiatives to get there
• Manage your scope, and prioritize your task assignments to deliver quality products.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through well-defined acceptance criteria and testing.
• Work in an international environment with colleagues from all over the world.

Who you are:

• With 5 or more years of experience in Data Engineering
• You are passionate about data optimization applying the latest methodologies to increase performance and reduce computing costs.
• You must be proficient in data exploration, modeling and analysis, being a master of SQL/DBT and eager to facilitate the resolution of technical issues.
• Familiar with data science tools such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib.
• You are structured, you want to understand the business domains in order to design the expected logic and code proper cataloging of data.
• You are all about providing insights, working with business teams to explore and identify the next KPIs that will drive our products to the top
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English 
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high ambition environment
• High level of organization, impeccable attention to detail, capacity to figure out complex problems without a lot of oversight
• Positive attitude, reliable, transparent and enjoy working with different types of people.
