Who We Want:
The Power BI Analyst will play a key role in developing and optimizing data reporting and visualization tools to support critical manufacturing, productivity, and business processes. This position requires a strong foundation in data analytics, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports based on stakeholder requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, IT) to understand data needs and reporting objectives
- Gather, clean, and integrate data from various sources, ensuring high data quality and integrity
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve data efficiently from relational databases
- Conduct data analysis and interpret trends or patterns to inform business decisions
- Develop and document standardized reporting processes and best practices
- Monitor and audit existing BI solutions to ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability
- Provide support and training to users on Power BI dashboards and tools
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting requests as needed
- Support data governance initiatives and help ensure compliance with data security standards
- Other duties may be assigned by management
When and Where:
This will be a 1st Shift / 830AM-5PM M-F position located at our Plant in Walker, MI.
Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.
What You Need to Have:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Synapse or Data Lake
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis or automation
- Certification in Power BI, SQL, or data analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data analyst or BI role
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (building reports, dashboards, DAX formulas)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros)
- Experience with SQL Server and writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and performance optimization
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills to resolve complex tactical, technical, and business-related issues.
- Must have superior verbal and written communication skills.
