Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Associate Director of Commercial Analytics to lead and advance our analytics capabilities within the Diagnostic Life Sciences sector. This pivotal role will oversee the development and execution of data-driven strategies that inform commercial decisions, optimize market performance, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diagnostic markets, advanced analytics methodologies, and a proven track record of leadership in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. This visible role will work cross-functionally, including with Commercial Leadership, FP&A, Corporate Development., Medical and others as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive commercial analytics strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamics in the diagnostic life sciences industry.
- Data-Driven Insights: Lead the analysis of complex datasets to extract actionable insights related to market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape, influencing strategic decisions across marketing, sales, and product development.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of promotional channels and commercial initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Market Planning and Forecasting: Deliver robust quantitative analysis of market data (internal and external) to build demand forecasts for in market and pipeline US Clinical products, and business cases to support strategic investments.
- Market Segmentation & Targeting: Utilize advanced analytics to segment markets and identify high-value opportunities, optimizing targeting strategies for product launches and promotional activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and IT teams to ensure alignment of analytics initiatives with business goals and to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Advanced Analytics & AI Integration: Explore and implement advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to enhance predictive modeling, forecasting, and customer segmentation efforts.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of analytics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, and ensuring the development of skills aligned with evolving industry needs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or business intelligence, with at least 3 years in a leadership role supporting a Commercial organization, preferably in the Life Sciences industry
- Proficiency in analytics tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with Commercial datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading analytics teams and developing analytics strategies.

Work Environment:
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Additional Information
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $180,600 to $248,350. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
