JOB PURPOSE: The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst carries out QA efforts for a variety of stakeholders within Advancement Services for Pomona College’s Advancement team. This role works closely with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and under the supervision of Sr. Director, Research, Relationship Management and Analytics. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our team. This role primarily works with constituent/customer and gift transaction data within the Salesforce and the various reporting environments. This opportunity not only ensures the quality of our data and products but also will assist in creating comprehensive technical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to details, analytical skills, a robust understanding of QA practices, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reporting to the Sr. Director, Research, Relationship Management and Analytics. The QA Analyst works independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
In collaboration with Sr. Director, Research, Relationship Management and Analytics, develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure product quality.
Identify, report, and track defects and inconsistencies, including change management.
Execute QA solutions for a variety of types of projects, utilizing general best practices and client-specific expertise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and subject matter experts, to resolve issues and improve the quality of deliverables.
Ensure all quality assurance functions are prioritized with people and the user experience in mind.
Perform functional, regression, and performance testing.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices across project lifecycles.
Provide detailed testing status updates and generate QA reports as required.
Ability to interact face to face with stakeholders, providing clear and accurate descriptions of progress while building trust and enthusiasm for projects.
Technical Documentation:
Clearly and concisely, documents change requests in a bug-tracking system and/or a live spreadsheet. Prioritize change requests based on project needs.
Under Sr. Director, Research, Relationship Management and Analytics’ guidance, maintain, refine, and continuously improve QA documentation and workflow processes. Create, edit, and maintain detailed technical documentation, including user manuals, process guides, data dictionaries, and system specifications.
Work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure documentation aligns with current processes and technologies.
Ensure all documentation is well-organized, accurate, easily accessible, and adheres to organizational standards.
Maintain version control for documentation to reflect updates in systems and processes.
Work on multiple projects and tasks and proactively support needs to complete and release client deliverables. Collaborate with project management teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Partner with Sr. Director, Research, Relationship Management and Analytics and mitigate project risk through discussion with developers and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, data science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience:
- 1+ years of QA testing experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau or SQL is preferred.
- Fundraising or Advancement experience is a plus.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS: This position must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job or must be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed (with or without reasonable accommodation) using other knowledge, skills and abilities not listed below.
SQL required
Python required
Tableau, Salesforce, Azure Cloud experience is not required, but a plus
Proficiency in key software, including MS Office, Customer Relationship Management systems, and content management systems.
Experience with scripting/automation a plus.
Proofreading/copy editing experience a plus. Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, keeping business stakeholders’ interest in mind during project.
Excellent attention to detail along with strong written and oral communication skills; ability to multi-task and set task prioritizations
Additional Position Details: Temporary, part-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate for this role is $65.00 to $100.00 per hour. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior role. All staff positions are ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship. As a California employer, Pomona College requires all employees to be residents of California.
