HQ Strategy & Finance Analytics team provides a unique opportunity to work on projects across HP Inc. You will be part of a team of analytics consultants, technical experts and data scientists within WW HP Inc. as part of the HQ Strategy & Finance Analytics Organization supporting the analytics projects and initiatives within the organization. You will participate in high profile initiatives including analyzing revenue trends, financial and operational metrics, implementing change, and developing frameworks for assessing the organization’s progress against its business and financial objectives. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Leadership/ Business Finance and Business leaders both in the GBU and region teams, and support them with analytically rigorous and pragmatic Business Intelligence solutions.

  HP is working on several machine learning problems related to financial analytics. We are in the process of setting up a new strategic team that will mine internal financial databases, and build predictive/prescriptive models using data science, advanced statistical tools and Machine Learning algorithms. We are looking for an outstanding Machine Learning Scientist who combines superb technical, communication, and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. The ideal candidate for this team will be a thinker and a doer: someone who loves sophisticated algorithms and mathematical precision and is motivated by the prospect of spectacular business returns.

You will be responsible for Analytics Solutions Development, source and integrate diverse data sets while building business intelligence and analytics models/frameworks to support decisions on focus areas and investments for key initiatives across regions. You will help to mine both internal and external data sources to provide strategic insights and research to enable informed decision making by Finance Leadership and assist in formulation of strategies and recommendations across personal systems, print, and mobility businesses. You will have the opportunity to own and drive projects/initiatives with end to end responsibility, collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry and drive outcomes.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics or,
• Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics from IITs or IISC or Indian Statistical Institute or any other respected foreign universities

Skills:

• 2 to 4 years of industrial experience in predictive modeling and analysis, predictive software development
• Must have worked on commonly used Machine Learning algorithms such as Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, K-Means, Random Forest etc.
• Strong Problem solving ability
• Must have excellent coding skills in Python and knowledge in Hadoop
• Experience in using SAS, Matlab, or any other statistical software
• Strong skills in Technology, BI Tools and Technical Development
• Strong data presentation skills
• Experience handling gigabyte, larger size datasets and Big Data
• Experience working with financial data and systems (preferred)
