Marketing Technology Data Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient MarTech Data Engineer with deep expertise in Segment CDP, data pipelines, and marketing data operations. This role is essential to ensuring our customer data flows are resilient, well-governed, and optimized for real-time personalization and analytics. You’ll play a key role in unlocking smarter, faster, and more compliant marketing capabilities across the Camping World/Good Sam ecosystem.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on integrating systems, maintaining high-quality data flows, and enabling dynamic segmentation and personalization across platforms. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in customer data platform architecture, data environments, and API-driven system connectivity.
In addition to data engineering responsibilities, this role will own key elements of MarTech data reporting. You will build and maintain reporting pipelines that surface actionable insights from Snowflake, Segment CDP and other systems into dashboards and stakeholder reports.
This position can be remote in EST, CST, MST or PST time zones
What You’ll Do
Platform Implementation & Optimization
Implement and optimize Segment CDP pipelines, including source instrumentation, event tracking, identity resolution, data enrichment, and destination delivery.
Build and maintain marketing data workflows that bridge data sources, Segment, and marketing/analytics destinations.
Partner with data teams to ensure Segment pipelines accurately reflect customer behavior and profile attributes for downstream use.
Create data reporting for business stakeholders in dashboards and standardized methods to be used for ongoing optimization and analysis.
Report on effectiveness of data pipelines and offer ideas for continual improvement.
Data Quality & Testing
Develop rigorous testing plans for event pipelines, identities, and audiences, ensuring every data flow is validated and traceable.
Automate QA and anomaly detection routines to flag latency, drop-offs, or schema mismatches across critical pipelines.
Own troubleshooting for broken or misaligned customer data flows and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
Audience & Consent Management
Configure dynamic, consent-aware audience definitions that integrate permissions, logic, and profile traits.
Partner with legal and data governance teams to ensure full compliance across customer data use cases.
Maintain audience eligibility logic aligned with channel and business-unit-specific permissions.
Integration Engineering
Enable seamless connectivity between Segment, Snowflake, web properties and marketing/analytics platforms using APIs, rETL, serverless functions, and cloud-native connectors.
Maintain data transformation schemas and identity stitching logic to support real-time personalization and analytics use cases.
Documentation & Collaboration
Create and maintain technical documentation for all pipelines, integration points, and audience logic.
Collaborate with Data Architecture, CRM, Marketing Ops, and IT to align MarTech efforts with cross-functional priorities.
Participate in reviews and working sessions to ensure ongoing optimization of the marketing data ecosystem.
What You’ll Need to Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years hands-on experience with Segment CDP or a comparable customer data platform. Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing event and identity pipelines. Be able to share specific examples that showcase your abilities in this area.
Proficient in leveraging Snowflake or equivalent data warehouses to transform, enrich, and activate customer data for marketing use cases.
Experience working with APIs, JSON, and SQL to create, map, and transform data across platforms.
Proven ability to debug and resolve data and pipeline issues, particularly around customer identity, trait mapping, and event delivery.
Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where accuracy, speed, and documentation matter.
A quality-first mindset and a passion for scalable, privacy-safe, and business-impact MarTech.
Preferred Skills
Experience with consent and privacy platforms (example: Securiti.ai, OneTrust) and how they intersect with marketing pipelines.
Familiarity with modern cloud platforms and event streaming models.
Relevant certifications such as Segment Certified Implementor, Segment Certified Marketer, or SnowPro Core Certification a plus
Pay Range:
