What you'll do:

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, particularly in developing, optimizing, and deploying generative AI applications. By developing state-of-the-art frameworks and tools, you will empower engineers and other stakeholders to maximize the potential of generative AI across the organization. In addition, you will:

  • End-to-End AI Solutioning: Own the lifecycle of generative AI initiatives, from ideation to deployment, ensuring robust and scalable production systems.
  • Scalability and Reliability: Ensure the scalability and reliability of systems by implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and alerting systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, business, UX and product teams to integrate generative AI capabilities into Headspaces products and services.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship: Guide and mentor team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.



What you'll bring:

  • Overall 9+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development with 2+ years in Generative AI or LLMs.
  • Expertise in Python, Java, Spring and libraries like Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Proficiency in distributed computing, cloud platforms (GCP, Azure), and scalable architectures.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery principles and building resilient, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Strong understanding of system design, non-functional requirements, and design patterns.
  • Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applications with microservice architecture in Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Generative AI models (e.g., GPT, Gemini).
  • Extensible knowledge in using FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, Vector Databases (VectorDB), PyTest and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Experience with common ML model serving frameworks, especially for NLP models/applications. Familiarity with Gen AI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus.
  • Proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, and related frameworks and libraries.
  • Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirements into engineering blueprints.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ML engineering processes and best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize requirements across multiple domains and influence stakeholders/peer teams for strategic alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner.
  • Expertise in Apache JMeter, Gatling, Locust, Splunk/Open Observe, Grafana, Dynatrace, and APM tools.
  • Skills in debugging, monitoring, and optimizing cloud platform infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with performance benchmarking for large-scale applications on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Knowledge of technologies for building scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments and understanding of performance trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in DevOps for troubleshooting and improving applications performance.
  • Experience with databases (Relational and NoSQL) and caching solutions.
  • Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud-like environments and respective performance trade-offs.
  • Solid DevOps skills in troubleshooting live applications, assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on Linux.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
