Overview:
The Data Governance Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for establishing and overseeing the implementation of Bunge's global data governance strategy in Data Platforms. This role will be instrumental in ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organization, enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting Bunge's strategic objectives. The Data Governance Lead will play a key role in driving the adoption of data governance best practices, fostering a culture of data literacy, and promoting the value of data as a strategic asset. This role directly contributes to Bunge's strategic objectives by ensuring data reliability and availability for informed decision-making across all business units. This involves significant challenges such as navigating complex data landscapes, harmonizing data governance practices across different regions and functions, and promoting data literacy throughout the organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape Bunge's data governance framework, influence data-driven decision-making at all levels of the company, and contribute to the organization's overall digital transformation journey.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement Bunge's global data governance strategy, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Business and Data Governance team to define data ownership and stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.
- Develop the strategy and supervise the implementation of a data quality strategy to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency at a global scale following an automated and DataOps approach.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools and technologies.
- Monitor compliance with data governance policies and procedures and conduct regular data audits.
- Define and implement the strategy in Data Observability and Self-service consumption at scale to cover all data products in the Platform.
- Develop and deliver data governance training programs to enhance data literacy across the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to data governance.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders on data governance progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Global impact, influencing data practices across all Bunge business units.
- Direct influence on data quality and usability for critical business decisions.
- Manages a virtual team of data stewards.
- Collaboration with senior leadership across various functions.
- Measurable impact on data quality, data literacy, and policy compliance.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data Quality, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance frameworks at scale using DataOps practices.
- Experience in the agribusiness, commodities, or food processing industries is a plus.
- Relevant data governance certifications (e.g., CDMP, CIPP) or Cloud Certifications (AWS , GCP) are preferred."
- Deep understanding of data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Deep understanding of Data Platform, Data Products and Data Mesh principles.
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data quality management processes and techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with Data Analytic and ML requirements
- Knowledge of Data Governance/Quality tools used in Cloud (Collibra, Data Plex, Montecarlo, etc..)Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
