About the role

 

In this role, you will lead the Ampol Group's finance data strategy to support the organisation’s goals of improving operational efficiency, strengthening data governance, and enabling informed, data-driven decision-making.

 

You will oversee the integration of systems, streamlining the data value supply chain, defining data ownership and responsibilities, and enhancing reporting tools, access controls, and training to improve data management.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Strategic Planning & Alignment: Develop a comprehensive and future-proof finance data strategy that aligns with both business and financial objectives.
  • Data Architecture & Integration: Establish a consistent data structure across financial domains to support reporting and analytics.
  • Change Management & Capability Building: Lead training and awareness programs to boost data literacy and adoption of new practices.
  • Governance, Compliance & Security: Establish and enforce a robust finance data governance framework
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business needs into data strategies and execution plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of system upgrades

 

About you

 

You will be an individual with exceptional finance, data and systems knowledge. You will be solutions focused with the ability to formulate strategy to drive delivery and outcomes.

 

Key skills and experience

 

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, data science, information technology, or related fields
  • Extensive experience in a large, publicly listed company
  • Experience in leading data management initiatives, especially in finance
  • Experience in leading teams or projects, especially in large-scale or multi-departmental projects
  • Experience collaborating with technology teams and external consultants, to design and implement integrated data solutions.
  • Experience in setting strategic direction for big scale projects
