Boost inc have the skills to take unattended retail to the next level, combining hardware, software, and an understanding of our customers.We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing data team.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a scale-up environment and enjoys solving complex data challenges, and can translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
As our Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines while ensuring high standards of data quality, integrity, and security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, support advanced analytics and machine learning use cases, and help Boost inc deliver a robust and reliable data.
- Design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines, handling both batch and real-time streaming workloads across diverse sources.
- Develop and maintain ELT processes, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and integration into the data platform via APIs and other connectors.
- Ensure data quality and security by implementing robust governance policies around data integrity, lineage, and access control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Maintain modern development practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and performance monitoring to support reliable, scalable data operations.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with strong Python skills and a solid grasp of ç, data warehousing, and big data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of core data engineering principles, including ETL/ELT, structured vs unstructured data, data modeling, data quality, and governance.
- Proven track record of building reliable, well-monitored data pipelines with high coding standards (clean code, modularity, error handling, testing).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and familiarity with modern DevOps practices such as Terraform (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and streaming technologies like CDC or Spark Structured Streaming.
- A remote-friendly position with flexibility to work from Portugal or Croatia.
