About the position:

E Ink provides the exciting and enabling “electronic paper” display technology used by eReaders throughout the world to provide a low-power, paper-like display.

E Ink is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to build and optimize the infrastructure that accelerates the lifecycle of deep learning workflows. You will design cloud-native processes and rapid feedback loops to support high-throughput deployment, testing, and optimization of deep learning models.

In this role, you will partner with R&D teams to optimize GPU-based model execution, improve performance across cloud and on-prem environments, and develop user-friendly tools and APIs for seamless access to compute resources. You will also work closely with the Apparatus team to develop software interfaces to physical instruments, enhancing reliability and throughput of data collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect cloud-native workflows for deep learning deployment, tuning, and monitoring
  • Integrate orchestration logic with model throughput and production tracking systems
  • Optimize GPU usage, scheduling, and memory layout for high-throughput model inference
  • Develop and maintain APIs, GUIs, and developer tools for managing and interfacing with cloud compute resources
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to improve software interfaces for data collection instruments
  • Streamline data flow and compute efficiency across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field
  • Expert-level Python; strong C++/CUDA or hardware interfacing experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with orchestrators like Prefect, Airflow, Dagster, or Argo Workflows
  • Experience with GPU profilers and optimization tools
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, GPU scheduling, and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of low-latency, high-throughput system design and debugging

Preferences:

  • Experience developing digital twins or simulators of physical devices or systems
  • Background in embedded systems, robotics, display technologies, or control systems
