Software Engineer I

Description

Franklin Street is currently seeking a Software Engineer I to join our team in Tampa, FL.

The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience with demonstrable programming skills. Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Java/C#. To be successful at this role, the candidate will need previous exposure to relational databases and basic SQL knowledge.

Position Overview:

The Software Engineer I will gain experience working on application design and development, websites, and AI-related projects. They will perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The Software Engineer will work across modern technology stacks, including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C# (.NET MVC/.NET Core)

• Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to build, enhance, and maintain web applications and tools.
• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using modern frameworks including React, ASP.NET Core, Flask or Django.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Support integration of RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Contribute to AI/ML features, data workflows, and automation projects.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and deploying applications in development and production environments.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team meetings.
• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver quality features within scope and on time.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent practical experience with demonstrable programming skills
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Java/C#.
• Familiarity with React (or other UI libraries), HTML, and CSS for front-end development.
• Exposure to relational databases and basic SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of REST APIs and how to consume them.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
• Experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI APIs)
• Well-versed in WordPress platform (WIX platform a plus).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
