Job Family Definition:

Partners with R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) Supply Chain groups to successfully introduce new products into world-wide production. Product Engineers interface with R&D, New Product Introduction, factory process engineering, Test Engineering and reliability engineering. Responsible to sustain products through cost reductions seeking yield improvements. Analyzes samples of defective units/sub-assemblies, reports the results to the appropriate design engineering, manufacturing engineering, test engineering and quality engineering team(s) as well as to the manufacturing group or area and/or vendor where the issue occurred, and recommends or implements changes to the product or process as applicable.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower-level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Supply Chain New Product Introduction, R&D, Product Engineering, and Sourcing to set up new materials in S4 SAP including material master, BOM, and variant configuration data to enable global manufacturing and customer sales order flow
• Enable accurate and timely NPI setup via product structuring, change management, extension and maintenance of Material Master (MM), BOM & Variant configuration across Engineering, Corporate, Sales, Rebiller & Fulfillment plants
• Ensure compliance to WW and local product structuring guidelines, applying highest data quality and integrity standards throughout the complete product life cycle
• Provide subject matter expertise to engineering and supply chain organizations in data modeling, product structure, and data flow related topics
• Drive simplification and standardization of processes and policies across business groups and regions to bring in operational effectiveness and efficiency
• Represent Product & Services Master Data Organization in defined Global Operations Engineering & Enablement related projects and business initiatives
• Lead local and world-wide strategic projects and initiatives within the Product & Services Data Organization (PSDO)
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
• 6-10 years of experience working in SAP S4 in new product introduction, product data mastering, variant configuration, BOM management and material master management in a high-tech electronics or manufacturing industry

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong material master, BOM, and variant configuration knowledge in SAP S4
• Ability to employ a structured, analytical approach to problem solving and process improvement
• Ability to understand and manage complex processes
• Understanding of modern order fulfillment, supply chain, and NPI concepts
• Strong understanding of PLM and master data domain platforms like Agile, Arena, Windchill, Team Center etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas, present information, and build relationships
• Ability to effectively work within a team setting, across multiple functions and international borders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language
