This role serves as the EHS software systems administrator, develops dashboards and reports, and helps drive data-informed decisions to enhance safety performance and environmental compliance across the organization.
Reports To: Safety Manager
- Track, maintain, and analyze company-wide EHS data, including safety events, environmental metrics, compliance actions, and training completion.
- Serve as administrator for EHS software platforms (e.g., incident management systems, training portals, compliance tracking).
- Develop and distribute recurring reports and KPIs for leadership, operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Build interactive dashboards to visualize trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Identify emerging trends and recommend preventive or corrective measures.
- Partner with field safety, compliance, and operations teams to ensure accurate data entry and timely reporting.
- Support EHS audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions through data analysis and reporting.
- Assist with data integrity checks and troubleshooting of software/system-related issues.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Scope of Responsibility:
The EHS Data Analyst plays a key role in ensuring data accuracy and transparency for the organization's safety and environmental performance. The position collaborates with various teams to support compliance initiatives and improve decision-making through data analysis and visualization.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI (or similar data visualization tools).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
- Effective communicator able to translate technical findings into business insights.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with EHS software systems (e.g., Process Maps, KPA) is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a data analysis or EHS-related role preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Standard office setting with occasional need to visit operational sites for meetings, data verification, or project collaboration.
- Frequent use of computers and data visualization tools.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and by phone or web meetings.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to read and interpret data on a computer screen or printed documents.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels, in a climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning.
- Potential for remote work or hybrid work arrangement.
- May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
Travel Required:
Travel required approximately 5% of the time; primarily local travel to company sites for operational site meetings, data verifications, project collaboration, etc.
