Job Summary: 

Under limited supervision, responsible for administration and day-to-day operation of organization's network systems (e.g., LAN, WAN, wireless and VoIP). Manages highly complex network. Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, security controls and disaster recovery. 

Ensures network performance through testing, monitoring and statistics reporting. Manages and performs network systems software upgrades; including planning and scheduling, testing and coordination. Manages and enforces the implementation of systems security, backup and recovery procedures. Participates in the evaluation of new products and technologies to determine those that best meet business needs. Conducts feasibility studies, assesses impacts on existing system configurations, and performs cost/benefit analyses to support the selection and purchase of network hardware and software. Liaises with end user computing support, network engineering teams and vendors to resolve network issues and support network operations as needed

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Sets up, configures and supports internal and/or external networks.
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing and documenting administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Revises, monitors and tests Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Supports and installs any network device and/or activity.
  • Responds and reports ticket resolution via the ticketing system of record.
  • Monitors equipment utilization.
  • Provides on-call help to other IT department members and users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field required. A combination of degree and experience can be considered. 
  • 5-8 years of related experience required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional certification (CCNP) preferred. 
  • Experience with network security products (Palo Alto, Cisco, FireEye, Cisco ISE, etc.)
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining VXLAN enabled data centers
  • Experience with scripting and network automation tools (Ansible, Nornir, Python, etc.) 
  • Experience in cloud networking infrastructure, AWS, Azure
  • Experience with logging aggregation and visualization tools (Grafana, Graylog, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of advanced network routing, architecture and design

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in WAN optimization solutions
  • Knowledge of information systems policies, procedures and terms
  • Extensive understanding of TCP/IP stack
  • Working knowledge of Spine/Leaf architecture
  • Expert knowledge utilizing Wireshark to troubleshoot network related issues
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to handle reasonably complex situations from the micro level perspective
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership

Annual Salary: $81,000 - $101,000
