Instrument Data Management – Time Series Associate

Your Team Responsibilities

The Manila Time Series team is part of the Instrument Data Management function under the wider Data Content Services group. The team performs quality assurance and maintains data integrity for both exchange-traded and over-the-counter instruments delivered by external vendors which are then utilized by MSCI Analytics products and risk platforms.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Market Data Integrity: Conduct quality assurance reviews on financial market data ensuring accuracy and consistency across both exchange-traded and OTC instruments by applying statistical methods and tools.
• Investigate and Resolve Irregularities (Data Integrity Issues): Analyze Time Series discrepancies and data exceptions by generating diagnostic reports and collaborating with internal teams to design and enhance anomaly-detection techniques—preserving data integrity and delivery timeliness for internal and external clients.
• Oversee Automated Data Pipelines: Monitor and optimize end-to-end data enrichment workflows sourced from both internal and third-party providers. Drive process reliability through proactive issue identification and continuous improvement.
• Support Client Query Resolution: Serve as a second-level escalation point for client and stakeholder data queries. Partner with Client Services to resolve challenges promptly, maintaining a client-centric and solutions-focused approach.
• Drive Cross-Functional Projects: Partner with global teams across Research, Product Development, and Engineering teams to design, test, and implement initiatives that elevate the scope, quality, and performance of data offerings.
• Champion Process Innovation: Contribute to the evolution of Time Series processes by piloting and scaling innovative ideas that drive improved data quality, efficiency, and client value.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline. (Master’s degree a plus but not required.)
• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL (Oracle or MS SQL) and Python (Pandas/Numpy) are essential. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is desirable.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, analyse root causes, and develop sustainable solutions.
• Team Collaboration and Communication: Effective communicator who thrives in a global, cross-functional team environment. Demonstrates initiative and accountability in team settings.
• Client-Focused Mindset: Maintains a strong focus on client and stakeholder needs, proactively resolving issues with professionalism and responsiveness.
• Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of financial instruments and market structures is advantageous.
