Senior AI/ML CAD Engineer

The role focuses on architecting, implementing, and deploying machine learning features to enhance product design workflows, specifically within CAD modeling, for Autodesk’s Fusion 360 platform.Position Title:  Senior AI/ML CAD EngineerLocation: Remote - LATAMWhat you will be doing:

• Design and implement ML models to solve core CAD problems (e.g., feature prediction, generative design, modeling intent detection)
  
  
• Collaborate with domain experts and product engineers to define data representations using Autodesk’s Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  
  
• Analyze large-scale 3D design data for model training, evaluation, and continuous learning
  
  
• Lead integration of ML features into the Fusion 360 cloud platform
  
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and data scientists
  
  
• Help define the AI/ML roadmap in collaboration with Autodesk's internal stakeholders
  
  

Requirements & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with strong applied experience in deep learning, probabilistic modeling, or computer vision
  
  
• Deep knowledge of CAD modeling principles, geometry processing, or design/manufacturing workflows (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  
  
• Strong familiarity with modeling, sketches, and drawings in professional CAD environments
  
  
• Proven track record of shipping ML-powered features in production (bonus: in design, 3D, or engineering software)
  
  
• Familiar with 3D model representations (B-Rep, mesh, NURBS, constraints)
  
  
• Proficient in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent ML frameworks
  
  
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and deploying ML services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Autodesk MCP or similar model context systems
  
  
• Familiarity with simulation, CAM, or generative design workflows
  
  
• Background in computer graphics, computational geometry, or 3D computer vision
