Spotify is constantly evolving its product to empower even more creators with new opportunities to share and monetize their incredible work, while giving users access to the world's largest and most diverse catalog of content. As our platform expands, ensuring the safety and well-being of all our users remains a top priority.
In this role, you'll take the lead in advancing Spotify’s approach to platform integrity and abuse mitigation. Your work will include designing tools and detection strategies that help identify and address policy violations, improving internal workflows, and supporting consistent policy implementation. You'll collaborate with R&D and cross-functional partners to develop scalable solutions that support effective detection, analysis, and response to emerging threats on the platform.
This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to the development of foundational safety and compliance infrastructure at Spotify, helping to strengthen platform integrity and trust through thoughtful, scalable solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and drive updates to policies to mitigate new and emerging threats, ensuring consistency in enforcement and remediation across cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and refine proactive and reactive rules to combat spam and reduce unwanted impressions, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
  • Lead internal escalation response efforts, triaging incoming reports and ensuring efficient, high-quality responses within published SLAs.
  • Manage relationships with internal tools teams, prioritizing bug fixes, performing QA, and developing proposals for feature improvements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to manage relationships with contingent workforces, developing workflows, training materials, and quality assurance tests.
  • Collaborate with policy teams on spam and abuse policy to work toward a safe and spam-free experience for customers.
  • Respond to ongoing spam incidents through targeted remediation efforts and review patterns or anomalies identified by engineering teams.

Who You Are

  • Extensive Experience in Trust & Safety: Demonstrated track record (10+ years) working on platform integrity, trust & safety, or content moderation for large-scale social or digital media platforms.
  • Deep Understanding of Policy Development: Expertise in designing, implementing, and updating policies to address emerging threats (e.g., misinformation, hate speech, spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior).
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant technical tools and methods, such as machine learning for content detection, automated moderation systems, and data analysis (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Risk Assessment and Incident Response: Strong skills in risk analysis, threat modeling, and leading cross-functional incident response for platform abuse or security events.
  • Regulatory and Legal Acumen: Knowledge of global digital platform regulations (e.g., DSA, DMA, Section 230, GDPR) and ability to collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience working with engineering, product, legal, and communications teams to deliver holistic integrity solutions and drive platform-wide initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the company externally (e.g., with regulators, partners) and influence internal stakeholders at all levels.
